This Zoom, online learning session will be led by Dr. Amy Hoover, 2022 National Flight Instructor of the Year and backcountry author. Dr. Hoover will offer practical tips on mountain and canyon weather phenomena and flight operations, to include: Preflight weather knowledge. Global circulation & pressure patterns. Mountain winds. Cloud types & weather systems. Fog, haze and smoke. Small scale local weather phenomena. Date for this session held in June, TBD.
